Fished Lake Madingofani, this time off a boat. Worked my way around the fringes with no luck, but it was perhaps too early in the day. Again there was an evening rise at 5pm and I picked up fish on a white death.

Fished a quick 30 minutes in Lake Madingofani before Rob's talk on Trout in the bar. Sadly no fish. It was too early as the fish only seem to come on at 5pm.

Day 1 at Castleburn. Fished Lake Madingofani with Emma from around 4pm with no luck. Then at 5pm the water came alive as an evening rise started. I instantly started hooking into fish who would only take a white death.

Our third water of the 2017 Boston Festival. Sadly all 4 of us blanked, with not so much as a touch. No fish had come out of the water the previous day. That said, it did produce 2 fish over 60cm in the final session to a lucky team.

Our final dam of the Boston Festival 2017. Fishing was tough and I got just a single fish in the shallows. The rest of the team also scratched and sadly Keegan blanked. There were a lot of small fish rising but we didn't manage to get any to take the fly.

Our second water of the Boston 2017. Star Dam has traditionally fished well for us but it was tough going this year. We think it may have been due to the construction taking place around the dam, which we expect has resulted in some poaching of fish. I picked up a nice 47cm fish early on by the wall. Other than that we all scratched around for fish. I finally picked up 2 more fish in the small bays just before getting out at 5:30pm. Everyone just got a single fish.

Our first water of Boston 2017. We got to the water at 7am and fished in freezing, windy, and misty conditions for two hours before the sun finally came out and warmed us up. We all picked up stockies, except for Bruce, but sadly no big fish came out. That said, Keegan did drop a nice rainbow when the braided loop pulled off the fly line he borrowed from Neill.

Beautiful morning in Durban. The sea was flat other than a large shore break that made fishing tricky.
        13/5/2017Lake RingsteadWazzy
Fished Lake Ringstead for around 1 hour after turning around on Sani Pass due to dangerous conditions. The water was off colour and a front was passing through bringing a lot of snow. I didn't get so much as a touch.

Water was slightly off colour and still as glass when I arrived. Picked up my first fish at around 9:30 once a wind picked up putting a ripple on the surface. Missed another fish while fiddling with my camera. Was blown off the water at 10:30am.
